Terri Maciolek, Ph.D., President and Founder
Dr. Maciolek has been involved in marketing research consulting for over 20 years. She is well versed and experienced in conducting primary consulting assignments for large and small pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, through utilization of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Clients rely on Dr. Maciolek's talents and passion for obtaining deep customer insights to assist in making effective marketing and development decisions for all phases of a compound's life cycle (pre-clinical through patent expiration).
Dr. Maciolek has been a speaker and panelist for ESOMAR, the HBA, and QRCA, as well as an author of several articles including most recently, a series of online data integrity articles. Prior to forming her current consultancy, Dr. Maciolek was partner at Data Quest Analytics and SVP at SMC (now part of GfK), where she is credited with igniting and operationalizing its global business as well as The Qualitative Institute.
Dr. Maciolek holds a doctorate in social research. Prior to focusing on the healthcare industry, Dr. Maciolek consulted in the telecommunication, arts and entertainment, and higher education markets.
Irene Lang, Senior Consultant
Ms. Lang has more than 20 years of experience in qualitative and quantitative project design and management. Prior to joining Opus, her work experience has been with several of the world's largest market research firms, most recently as Senior Vice President at GfK Healthcare.
Over the years, Ms. Lang has conducted projects across a variety of industries, with special emphasis on pharmaceutical and healthcare products and services. Well-versed in the latest qualitative and quantitative techniques, Ms. Lang has designed and implemented research in a broad array of therapeutic areas including cardiology, CNS, oncology, endocrinology, pain, HIV/AIDS, respiratory, and gastroenterology. The focus of these studies has included product development, pricing, positioning, packaging, forecasting, and utilization.
Ms. Lang has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Rutgers University.
